Creating interactive language practice no longer has to mean building every piece of an activity from scratch.
Speakable now gives teachers new ways to create conversations, generate original audio and images, and build complete activities with AI. Here is a closer look at four tools available in Speakable.
Conversation Pages give every student an opportunity to complete a full conversation with AI.
Teachers set the context, define the role the AI should play, and describe the goals students need to accomplish. Students can then complete the conversation by speaking or typing.
Teachers can also configure how the conversation is graded and what students see when they submit. Optional feedback can include grammar insights, a proficiency estimate, rubric scores, and a suggested response.
Once students finish, teachers can review their results in the gradebook.
The Audio Generator helps teachers create audio that fits the activity they are planning.
Start by choosing the target language and describing the clip you need. Your prompt can include the topic, speaker type, accent, proficiency level, and other important details. You can also provide an exact script.
After generating the clip, listen to it and adjust the prompt as needed. Finished clips can be saved to your media library or used to generate a complete Speakable activity.
The Audio Generator supports the 40-plus languages available in Speakable.
With the Image Generator, teachers can create original visuals without leaving Speakable.
Describe the scene, setting, objects, people, or cultural context you need. Advanced settings let you select a visual style, aspect ratio, and image size.
Once the image is generated, you can describe any changes you want and regenerate it. Finished images can be saved to your media library and added to activities.
You can also select “Use in Activity,” describe what students should practice, and have Speakable create an activity using the image.
The AI Activity Builder turns an idea or existing resource into an interactive, ready-to-assign activity.
Teachers can enter a prompt or upload an image, PDF, or audio file. Before generating the activity, they can select the target language, proficiency level, and framework.
Advanced settings provide additional control over the activity’s focus, length, page types, and auto-grading.
Once the activity opens in Speakable’s builder, Chatty can help teachers add pages, apply a rubric, reorder content, generate images or audio, and update settings across the activity.

These tools are designed to move content directly into student practice.
Teachers can generate an image or audio clip and turn it into an activity, build a complete activity from a prompt or file, and add Conversation Pages that let students apply what they are learning through speaking or writing.
